Malusis & Rubinson On Hughes Hughes Next Start TBA?
Apr 30

Looking at the schedules, off-days, and pitching rotations of the Yankees and Mets, it appears that this could be the pitching match-ups for the first subway series of 2008 (next month at the Stadium):

May 16th: Oliver Perez vs. Andy Pettitte
May 17th: John Maine vs. Ian Kennedy
May 18th: Nelson Figueroa vs. Chien-Ming Wang

Get this, on May 15th – again, according to schedules, current rotations, etc. – Johan Santana should be starting for the Mets and Phil Hughes should be starting for the Yankees.

So, by one day, we missed seeing Johan Santana vs. Phil Hughes, at Yankee Stadium, in the first game this season where the Yankees and Mets face-off. Now, that would have been Hank Stein’s worst nightmare.

Hey, Steve, Dallas just fired Avery Johnson. I think this was a great move and exactly what Dallas needed.

I only bring this up to see if we can agree on ANYTHING. Ha, ha. I thought maybe if we moved away from baseball we could find unity on one issue.

It’s only a good move if Dallas also fires GM Donnie Nelson. It was Nelson, not Johnson, that built a team of soft ninnies that can’t defend the basket or grab a defensive rebound.

Sorry guys, I have zero interest or knowledge of the NBA or NHL.

It was only a joke, by the way. I just wanted to see if we could agree on ONE thing, Steve, since we seem to disagree on everything baseball-related. I guess I blew the joke, because it went over everyone’s head.

I knew it was a joke. I just had to get on my soapbox for a second. Sorry Bailey.
