Hughes Has Rib Stress Fracture

I just heard Joe Girardi on Mike & The Mad Dog via WFAN. He shared that Phil Hughes has a stress fracture of his 9th rib and will not touch a baseball for a month now. Mike & The Mad Dog are estimating that Hughes will now be out until July.
What a Pavanian development, huh?

More like, “Everyone who said the Yankees were lying about the injury look really stupid right now.” Pete Abraham in particular should be ashamed of himself, since he went apoplectic about what prevaricators Cashman and Giardi were, and that they were effing with Hughes’ head.
I said then and I’ll repeat now: there was no way they were going to put Hughes in that spot, lying to the media with some wild made-up story.
The funniest thing about Abraham is that he wouldn’t even give a “my bad” after looking like a complete moron.
Tim Wakefield had the same injury in 2006 and he was out for almost 2 months. I would say that is what you should expect, a return around the middle of June.
And Steve, please, its hardly “Pavanian.” Get a grip
Mike and The Mad Dog really came across well with this too. Fools acting more foolish than usual.
It is a concern though. After the double injury last year, and now this, Hughes can legitimately be called injury prone. Until he proves otherwise, that is how it is.
I heard that the Yankees think he broke his rib coughing….if that’s not Pavanian then I dunno what is…haha

Don’t think we’ll be getting anything resembling a retraction over there, do you?
Told ya it was real.
Mea cupla on thinking the Yankees were playing games with the D.L. trip.
Now, I think, the real story is: How did the injury occur? Is Hughes that brittle that it broke pitching? Or, did something happen off the field TBD?
Even Cashman, before the game, admitted that they still need to figure out how this happened.
This whole thing seems fishy. No one knows what happened. There was no evidence of any injury. No one event that seemed to cause anything. Yesterday, Girardi was answering questions saying he was healthy.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist so I’ll take their word for it. But this is as bizarre as they come.
Word on the street is he crashed his Porsche into an 18 wheeler when he drove into a puddle at 200mph while getting head from a model. The airbags deployed and broke his rib. Apparently he tried to keep this from the Yankees and pitch through the injury.
