And for everyone saying that Joba needs to be in the rotation, don’t forget that Kennedy had an ERA of over half a point better, and a slightly better WHIP than Joba did as they were coming through the same levels as starters last season.
=========

If IPK pitched the way he did at the end of last season, we wouldn't even be talking about this, but for whatever reason (he may be pressing) he's not.

That doesn't necessarily mean that Joba will regress as a starter. IPK has been unwilling to trust his stuff. Joba's stuff is incomparably better, so to merely cite ERA and WHIP to support your argument does not dispose of the issue, especially after seeing how dominant Joba has been while in MLB.

IPK's stats were much better than Lester's in the mL, yet Lester is pitching better right now.

The issue is far more complicated than your post would suggest.

Igawa is not the answer. If Kennedy hasn't figured it out by the end of the month, then it becomes time to look into making a move. Kennedy isn't going to be as good as he was last year, but he isn't as bad as he has shown this year so far. The only way you make a move is if Kennedy is hiding an injury like Hughes.

It's not like Igawa or any other starter has been lights out at AAA anyway.

But Ca$hman has a lot bet on Igawa. That's the guy who decides on the roster, not clueless Joe.

Oh God, not Kei Igawa, anything but Kei Igawa! Nooooooooo!!

Seriously, I would much rather watch Kennedy figure it out than that no talent A$$ clown...

And on a related note, Justin Verland lost yet again and his ERA is nearing 7. Maybe the Tigers should send him down and call up some crappy retread too, no?
