Does The “T” In Tabata Stand For… Posada Plan: Rest, Rehab, & Retrun(?)
May 03

Via the Hartford Courant

[Phil] Hughes, on the disabled list with a fractured rib, had his eyes examined and will wear glasses when he pitches. He has been bothered by glare during night games and has had trouble picking up signs from his catcher. Hughes said he is slightly nearsighted.

Knowing that the lights are not that great in some minor league parks, it’s interesting that this issue never came up before for Hughes. But, hey, better late than never on the correction, right?

The guy is still young. His eyes may have just started to change.

Steve is clearly enamored with embedding. NoMaas had a hilarious pic of Phil in headgear from when the Yanks first said Phil had vision problems.

Hopefully Rasner can put some quality starts together, so that Hughes can take his time make 5-6 starts coming back through the minors, and build up some positive momentum before he comes back. Hell the glasses worked for Ricky Vaughn, why not give them a try.
