So you'd burn an entire bullpen in an anticipated loss rather than throw a Igawa out there? If you're going to lose, you might as well not waste your bullets and just have Igawa do what he can do right? We don't want to ruin IPK's confidence anymore, but really patching together a bullpen game when you already have the most overworked pen in the game? By this logic I would just go get Chase Wright and have him burn through a couple innings. If Igawa can even go 5 innings you might be able to flip him to an NL team that needs a mediocre lefty. I don't understand this logic.

Ca$hman has too much invested in Igawa. You knew this day was coming. Heeeeeee's back!

Igawa is still relatively young--especially for a left-hander. He does miss bats, and there is something deceptive about his delivery. For $46 million, you have to take a shot hoping that something clicks. I would probably do the same thing.

Seriously, if they are just going to sacrifice a game like this, why not have IPK do it and improve?

====

Because Kennedy's confidence level is already low, despite what he says. If he goes out there and gets shellacked by the Tigers, that could seriously f*** him up. He needs to spend a little time in the minors, pitch a few good games against inferior competition. Not so much to rediscover his stuff, maybe, but just to remember what he's capable of. 90% of this game is mental...

Never mind that fact that the Tigers crush lefties whereas the Indians don't. If they were smart they'd throw him out on Thursday.

They’d probably do just as good as Igawa.

------------------------------------------

i'd be willing to bet that you'll see that same lineup of pitchers even when igawa starts.
