If the Yankees don’t take advantage of this situation, and skip Kei Igawa’s next “turn,” then, well, I fear that Yankeeland will be declared a full-blown idiocracy.
Com’on Yankees. Let’s be smart here and do the right thing.
Start packing Kei.

The Yanks have already announced they’re skipping Igawa. Friday’s starter is up in the air right now, but Wednesday — Igawa’s next scheduled start — is going to Mussina on regular rest.

But that doesn’t mean they’re skipping him, they’re just moving everyone back a spot. They could still very well start Igawa on Friday. And who knows, Tampa is not a very good-hitting team, and they’re nearly as bad vs. lefties as the Yankees have been so far this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start Igawa…and I wouldn’t hang them for it. Personally, I’d rather they ’stick to the plan’ with Kennedy and let him get some more good starts under his belt, rather then screwing with him.

Of course, the Yankees play the Mets on Friday. I meant Thursday for Igawa. Yankee Brass would have to be insane to start Igawa vs. that team – they’re significantly better against lefties than they are against righties.
