The Yankees now have the third worst record in the American League:
TEAM W L W% SEA 17 27 .386 DET 17 26 .395 NYY 20 23 .465 KCR 20 22 .476 TOR 22 23 .489 MIN 21 21 .500 TEX 22 22 .500 CLE 22 21 .512 CHW 22 20 .524 OAK 24 20 .545 BAL 23 19 .548 LAA 25 20 .556 BOS 26 19 .578 TBR 25 18 .581
What makes this hurt more is that the Yankees beat up on Seattle earlier this season – and without those wins, their record would be uglier. Then, add the fact that the Tigers have whipped the Yankees in their head-to-head games this season. So, basically, the only team playing worse than New York in the league is the Seattle Mariners.

Thank goodness you’re not looking at standings to figure out every team’s won loss record, that would make someone very exasperated. It would probably make you happy, though.

Hey, it wasn’t until “all youse guys” starting telling me how the Yankees were still in it, despite their record, that I started paying attention to the standings. So, thank yourself.
