On Opening Day I was excited to see if the Yanks could capitalize on their immense potential and win the division.
I feel the same way today- we’ve seen more potholes than I’d expected, but I still think the Yanks are on the road to glory.
I simply don’t see anything to get excited about in 2008. I keep seeing fourth place, 84 wins (maybe) and 8 games behind Tampa Bay at season’s end with Boston and Toronto (not necessarily in that order) finishing ahead of the Yanks. The bullpen is not reliable enough, the situational hitting is an atrocity and the defense is mediocre at best. This is not a good baseball team right now. The pieces are there for it to get better, but I just don’t see it happening.
