Some interesting Yankees items in the media today:
Jim Baumbach takes a look at What’s gone wrong with Yankees’ Robinson Cano?
Mike Morsch tells us that [George] Kontos [is] earning his Yankee pinstripes.
John Harper shares that Johnny Damon questions Joba Chamberlain’s move out of bullpen.
Steven Goldman suggests that the Yankees’ Real Problem Is Getting Men on Base.
And, lastly, Tyler Kepner blogs that [a] Name to Remember in the Yankees’ Farm System: Alfredo Aceves.
Make sure that you read them all. There will be a pop quiz on these next week.

I have no idea how to guage if he’s right or not because the whole concept of player development is so nebulous. It’s hard to know if the player isn’t as good as originally thought or if the coaching so poor that the player can’t develop beyond the high school/collegiate/minor league level. Although I suppose if an organization simply can’t develop ANYONE then it’s probably a lot of both.
