Have you seen the story about the “texting” relationship between Alex Rodriguez and Pete Rose?
Is this a big deal? I’m not sure.
I mean…if…we found out that Hank Greenberg, back in 1937, had been trading postcards with Shoeless Joe Jackson – in which they discussed hitting, etc. – would that had been an upsetting story, or, just an interesting one? Personally, I would have found it interesting. But, I would not have been concerned about about Greenberg dealing with Jackson. (Of course, Pete Rose’s deal is a little different from Joe Jackson’s situation.)
Further…if…we find out sometime in 2018 that Gerrit Cole and Roger Clemens are exchanging holographic messages concerning Cole’s pitching mechanics, do you think many people will be down on Cole for that? Probably not.
How about you? What’s your thoughts on this news about the relationship between A-Rod and Charlie Hustle?

This is a non-story. A-Rod rubs elbows with Goldman Sachs executives and other big dogs on Wall Street. You think there aren’t morally compromised people in those circles? Heck, A-Rod was a teammate of Roger Clemens who was clearly morally compromised.
If it were Jeter and Pete Rose, this wouldn’t be a story.
