The Randolph firing was not the Mets’ finest hour. And Omar is not a particularly good public speaker, in part, I’m sure, due to the fact that English is not his first language or the language spoken around his home when he was growing up. So, in a sense, your disparaging of Minaya by comparing his speaking style to that of a white person whose first, and presumably only, language is English is ignorant and racist. This is separate and apart from the ignorance in equating a GM’s public speaking skills to his, well, GM skills. Ok.

I haven’t seen the press conference, but given the way Randolph’s firing was handled, I can understand why Minaya would come across the way he has.

Many think that I never have anything nice to say about Brian Cashman. Let this stand as testament towards debunking that notion.
