If you had done that, instead of simply providing your conflicting set of sources, you would have determined that it was your facts that were incorrect, and that the entire premise of your post is inaccurate. After which, the responsible thing to do would have been to retract/amend/supplement your post with a correction.

But, why bother being professional about this blogging thing?
