It’s been interesting watching the disparity in the gun readings between YES and the Stadium: YES had him at 89-92; the Stadium had him at 93-95. I guess that’s another example of why gun readings are meaningless.
==========================
To highlight that point, I add that I was at the game last night and the Stadium gun had Farnsworth at between 98-101 in the 8th inning. 101?! No way.

It has nothing to do with age. It's about talent. The Astros have Tejada, Berkman, Wiggington, Oswalt, Ausmus, Lee -- not exactly a youth movement over there. Padres are just a putrid offensive team with a pretty good bullpen and a decent starting staff. The Yankees got somehow lucky, getting Peavy in only his second start back from the DL. He certainly wasn't at his best last night. Personally, I think Peavy is the best pitcher in either league, and it's not even close.
Rasner's comments are nice to hear. Better than Igawa who thought he pitched pretty well after his 3 inning shellacking.

You have to hand it to Posada. As much as he's been labelled as mediocre on defense, he sure does know how to handle his staff. I'd like to see what the pitching staff's numbers are before and after Po. Pettitte and Wang had really picked it up.

From what I can gather listening to Wang about his turnaround (before injury) he said Po just yells at him to pound the strikezone and let his natural sink do the work. Seems the same kind of information he was givining Rasner as well.
