David Robertson With Yanks Now

WFAN is reporting that the Yankees have called up David Robertson. No word on who’s leaving the big league roster to make room for him.
Could be Igawa? Then again, it could be Hawkins?
WFAN also mentioned that Girardi said surgery could be an option for Godzilla. That would be a bummer.

By the way, word has it that Ross Ohlendorf will be starting in AAA (they’ll still use him as a reliever in the bigs, but they want him to work out his issues, which they think will be easier as a starter).
The team website says it’s the K-Man who was optioned back down.

I almost hate to say this, but if Matsui is out, then they really need to take a look at the guy A-Rod will be chasing soon.

Seriously – why would anyone think that someone who throws a completely straight fastball at 89-91 can excel in pressure situations? He couldn’t keep the pitcher from fouling off his fastball! I know he’s supposed to have a great curve – not that he showed it in that frame – but he better have a great curve to keep people off of that fastball. And there’s no way that fastball doesn’t get hammered in this league.
