Give the Yankees this – and this is something that other teams across the world face – that they will almost always field a competitive team. With the exception of the 1980s and early 1990s the Yankees have fielded a consistent competitive team. The team isn’t focused on just making money or existing (Pirates and Royals I’m looking at you) but actually winning.

Yankees haters will always hate the Yankees for their payroll and their history – but without the Yankees what would baseball be like? Also – those other teams get a nice check from the Yankees through revenue sharing.

Seems that there are a lot of question marks coming into this offseason WRT free agents…
