Pinstripe Pancho Villa Day Post-Game Reaction Edwar Ramirez And Jose Veras

Seattle has cut ties with Richie Sexson.

You know, for the last two seasons, Sexson has been, on the whole, a terrible hitter. How bad?

Put it this way, from Opening Day 2007 through last night, Sexson has posted an Offensive Winning Percentage of .398 (in 783 PA). During that same period of time, Melky Cabrera has posted an Offensive Winning Percentage of .397 (in 956 PA). Get the picture?

However, as bad as he’s been the last two seasons, Sexson still hits LHP. Note his BA/OBP/SLG splits for the last two years combined (to date):

vs. RHP: .188/.282/.360
vs. LHP: .277/.366/.494

If the Yankees are looking for someone to come off the bench and play 1B and/or DH against LHP, it seems like Richie Sexson might be worth a roll of the dice.

Great, just what we need, a SECOND lumbering, slugging first baseman who offers us nothing defensively.

So, when does Arod start to get some heat for his miserable non-performance. Besides hitting a BP slow-pitch fastball from Wakefield for a HR, he’s done nothing. And his AB’s with men in scoring position are pathetic. And I’m not even talking about his off the field stuff: it doesn’t matter.
He is starting to look like ‘06 at the plate.

kabbalah-boy has a nice, if Raissmanic, ring to it.

As for Sexson, seeing as Moeller & Traber haven’t done much to warrant a roster space, may as well give one of their spots to Sexson.
