Steve,
You're right but it's a lost cause. How about all-star games ending at 2AM EST? Sunday games in the summer changing to 8PM for ESPN when families with small kids had been planning an afternoon at the ballpark?

Ever since:
1- Wrigley got lights,
2- Bowie Kuhn wore long underwear rather than an overcoat on a cold night during the world series,
3- countless meaningful games ended after midnight on school/work nights...

This issue falls on deaf ears at MLB. They've sold out long ago.

Gotta disagree guys. It's going to be a special day in Yankeeland. And, as such, it should be an event that all Yankees fans can enjoy - from start to finish.

If it's a night game, there's the potential that it could run towards mid-night...maybe even 1 AM, if extra innings. And, if it's that late, MANY, MANY, Yankees fans will not be able to watch. And, that's my beef. It's just wrong - when the answer is simple...play during the day so that you can allow the most people to see it.

By having it on Sunday night, it will be guaranteed to be the only game going on and the full attention of YANKEE UNIVERSE and the rest of the nation can see the old lady go out in style with a win propelling the YAnks into the PLAYOFFS!!! IMO

I really don't understand.

Yankee Stadium will get its last day in the sun. That will be September 20.

I don't see the significance of why the last day in the sun has to be September 21.

Prior to renovation, Yankee Stadium got its last day in the sun on September 30. Now, I'm sure there were people who did not like the fact that the last day in the sun was the 30th and wanted it to be on the 29th. But, did it really matter?
