Since July 1st, the Mets’ Carlos Delgado (in 14 games) has authored the following BA/OBP/SLG line: .396/.476/.736 (in 63 PA). And, the Mets have gone 12-2 during this hot streak for Delgado.
Of course, the Mets’ pitching (in their last 14 games) has been off-the-charts good too – with an ERA of 2.95 since July 1st.
But, noticing Carlos Delgado (albeit from a distance) carry the Mets on his back, offensively, I can’t help but get the “green-eyed monster” thing and wish that someone on the Yankees would go bananas with the lumber and carry the Yankees, offensively, for a couple of weeks.
If it can happen, now is the time to do it. If they wait until August, it may be too late.
It doesn’t have to be A-Rod. It can be Giambi, Abreu, Posada…anybody. Just let it be somebody. And, again, let it be now.

As you often do, we must remember that of the 10 game win streak, 7 of those teams are named the rockies, giants or reds.

A very fair point there, IMHO.
