Benching Seems To Have Sparked Cano

Back on June 14th, Joe Girardi told Robinson Cano to take a seat and grab some pine. What’s happened since that time?

Since June 15th, Robinson Cano has played 26 games and produced the following BA/OBP/SLG line: .323/.350/.500 (in 104 PA).

Yes, his walk-rate is still terrible. But, since Girardi made him sit, Cano has been a much better hitter. Hopefully he can keep it up - because the Yankees are going to need him to hit well, over the next 66 games, if they’re going to have a chance to make the post-season this year.
