Joba is stupid. He really is...I don't care if he is a Yankee why is he headhunting? Does anyone want the retaliation to end up having Jeter hit in the head either ending up in Jeter ending his career or something worse? Pitching inside is one thing ,BUT headhunting? Joba is really risking the health of his teammates and also a brawl. I was really mad at Joba is he sane? Pitch inside fine, don't try to end a guy's career. Youkilis is a hothead so don't be surprised if this get violent.

Steve, two wrongs don't make a right. Jeter gets hit so much because he crouches the plate. Imagine if Lester headhunts him tomorrow to back him off,is that right? That is irresponsible. I never liked it when Pedro plunked Jeter and Sori back in the day, BUT I wanted the Yanks to retaliate (by pitching inside) not to headhunt. I also hated when Clemens hit Piazza in the head,that was very wrong. Clemens like Joba (Pedro too)is screwing around with not only someone's livelihood but their life as well.It's funny to note that Pedro and Clemens never headhunted while in the NL.......

That being said, the balance is being redressed, the Sox pitchers can't just throw at Yankees anymore at will. I do like that fact BUT no headhunting though. That crosses the line.

Actually, Farnsworth didn't do that bad yesterday; soft single that would've been caught had Abreu been playing @ a normal depth, and Crisp hit an infield single; that ball wasn't going foul.

~~~ I don’t care what the Yankees did or didn’t do in the past. Joba keeps throwing at Youkilis. That is undeniable, and its going to result in retaliation. Count on it.~~~
And, if it happens, you can count on someone like Joba, Farnsworth, or Bruney (if he comes back) then squaring off the ledger.
If the Sox really want it to stop, the answer is simple: Tell Youkilis to not stand on the plate and to keep his mouth shut.
The strikes called on Ellsbury and Lowell came in crucial moments and were completely outrageous. He was clearly worse for the Yanks than vice versa. Or the Yankees were better at throwing to his strike zone, which was one of the worst in memory.
Personally, I think Beckett should have come out to start the eighth inning and drilled someone. Rile up his teammates and the stadium, and serve his five game suspension. Given the number of days off the Sox have, he could have registered an appeal, then dropped it when he'd have had five games between starts anyway.
~~Don’t cry foul when Joba gets a teammate hurt.~~
Did Pedro get any Sox players hurt when he was head-hunting against the Yankees?
Same ump for both teams. IIRC, Beckett got Giambi looking, early, on a pitch that was just as low and inside as the pitch to Lowell in the 9th.
Don't cry foul when Joba gets a teammate hurt. And don't tell me none of his throws at Youkilis were accidental. He's become the Rays staff and Youk is Daubach. Every game, he throws at him. It won't be tolerated, of that you can be sure.
And hey, great game. Would have been nice if Eric Gregg hadn't had such an impact on the outcome. Yeah, yeah, sour grapes - tell me that if the shoe were on the other foot, you wouldn't be pissing and moaning about those strike calls, too.
