I don't know how the Yanks feel, but last I read, Joe Torre said he's not ready to come back. Of course, he couldn't yesterday any way.

Bernie keeps claiming he's got other commitments.

Roy White was quoted the other day as saying he was fired too often and has had it.

Who's to say they haven't tried?

Sounded like it was a great day. However, the Yankees FO MUST make amends with Torre, Roy White, and of course, Bernie. For years, fans were deprived of Yogi simply because of a failed personal relationship with George. The Yankees owe it to the fans to make piece with key Yankee players and make sure they get their day in the sun.

I have been a fan since '65. While he is not a big name, Roy white spent 15 years, his entire career, from farm to retirement, with the Yankees. As much as any Yankee I have known and rooted for, Roy personified all the good qualities we admire in a Yankee. He is the quintecential 'True Yankee'.

Everyone knows what Joe Torre and Bernie meant to this team. One day missed is too many. Yankee tradition is a huge part of what being a Yankees fan is all about.

It's time for the FO to make things right with our heros.

Agreed on Willie — he was actually the only player announced I got a little choked up for.

I did a double-take on that one too. As far as I know, it's not "our" Bill White.

It was great. I loved "Once a Yankee, always a Yankee" for Willie.

Bill White was mentioned as a ball player who died this year. That's not our Bill White is it?
