Number one, you're drawing conclusions based on less than 1 week out of the month. Nevertheless, the chance of having problems in August was compounded by the performance of the starting rotation early in the season. I'm not sure if its changed since then or at what point exactly, but through the first two months of the season, didn't the Yankees rotation have one of the lowest IP totals, and the bullpen one of the highest? Its generally agreed that this is a recipe for disaster, as a bullpen may handle that workload for a time before it inevitably crashes and burns.
