The Savior Is Coming! [He Says With A Smirk] Clay Buchholz Loves Laptops

Remember Chase Wright? Well, he was outstanding this season in Double-A: 8-2 with an ERA of 2.96 in 94.3 IP (over 16 starts).

Granted, Chase had some health issues a couple of months ago. However, Wright has comeback from that…and, he’s now pitching in Triple-A. So, how’s he doing?

In his last two starts at Scranton-Wilkes Barre, he’s gone 12.3 IP, allowing only 5 hits and 4 walks. He had 8 strikeouts in those games an opponents only hit .128 against him.

If I’m the Yankees, I would have to start considering him for a call-up. At the least, I don’t give Ian Kennedy, Dan Giese, Darrell Rasner, or Phil Hughes (when his time comes) a lot of rope…and, if one of those replacement-starters struggles, I would give Wright another crack at it.

Plus, Chase is now 25-years old. It’s time to see if he’s ready or not. He’s not getting any younger. I wonder if the Yankees are considering Wright – and, if not, why?

Many LHP are notoriously slow to develop. Maybe Chase Wright is one of those. He has been very sharp in SWB, or so it seems.

If they’re not considering him, probably means his stats are a fluke, or mostly based on luck.

Hell Id like to see him. I forgot all about him. I thought we traded him a season or two ago. A lefty is always something a little special. Id give him a shot. The Yanks are going to have to go with a randomized rotation for the stretch and if Wright looks good in a start I say let him keep going.

By the way. WTF is 12.3 innings pitched? Is that not 13 innings pitched? lol.
