Yeah, you call everything that turns out bad, because everything is bad to you…fricken pessimist.

Someone on the radio claimed that Ramirez is more valuable than K-Rod…is this person on crack? Yeah, these diamonds in the rough are coming back to earth. Eiland has done a decent job but I can’t tell if he is Leo Mazzone Jr yet judging from the bullpen’s impolsion yesterday. BTW where was Farnie when you needed him?

Steve, it’s OK that you are a pessimist BECAUSE there is a lot to be worried about. I hear Yankee boosters on the radio( the hosts themselves) acting like everything is wonderful. What team have they been watching? An alternative universe version of the Yankees? I mean there is trouble in paradise from Arod and Jeter’s lack of situational hitting and the lack of consistency pitching wise. Look, if the Yanks overcome these travails, I will be astounded and celebrate their ability to get it together in spite of a 210 million dollar payroll and an ill constructed team to begin the season.

What seems to happen to both of those guys are long stretches of dominance with a few blips on the radar screen. Your choice of dates with Edwar was alarming to me because there was a period of time where he threw something like 12 or 13 hitless, scoreless innings. Then all of a sudden he faces the Angels and gives up 4 runs in 2 innings, throws really well against Texas, then gives up another 4 runs against the Angels without recording an out. Some pitchers have a bugaboo team and the Angels appear to be that for Edwar. Without those 2 bad outings his ERA since June 24th is 1.42. My thoughts…don’t pitch him against the Angels, but don’t discount him because he only throws 90mph.

Veras has been great and over his last 19 appearances he has given up 5 runs in 18.2 innings of work to an ERA of 2.41. I’ll take that from my pen every time. I don’t think the clock is ticking close to midnight on either of these guys. But maybe it should be a while before Edwar gets to pitch against his former organization.

Don’t use your sample size tricks to fool us into think that these guys have been bad…it’s just not the case. The Angels are a CRAZY good team and are straight-up killing the Yankees and every other team over .500 in every facet of the game. There isn’t much two middle-relievers are going to do to stop that.

I’m not worried about them yet. Just going through a slump, happens to the best of them.

And if this is more than a slump, then they’re RHRP’s the most disposable of commodities in MLB.

      This team is disposable.

What was A-Freud *thinking* trying to steal 3rd with Nady at bat? Nine more years to go!
