“B” Is For Bandwagon…And Beijing? Heyman: Yanks To Offer Cashman Extension
Aug 13

Frank Isola and Chris Carlin, yesterday on SNY’s Loud Mouths, discuss the question. Here’s the video:

I have to agree…if it’s true that this season is done, as per Hank, then why risk Chamberlain this year? He should only come back if there’s something to play for…in terms of making it to the post-season.

if the yankees are serious about this innings cap nonsense, they need to pitch him. Or else next year hes gonna have the same limit as this year

  2. Steve Lombardi Says:

Same deal for Hughes too, no? Because he’s missed so much time, he’s not going to be able to give you 180 IP next season.

  3. DJ21996 Says:

Its not a risk if he is fine. You cant just rest players willy nilly because they have a boo boo.

If the Doctor clears him and Joba says he is fine, then throw him out there.
Believe me, Cashman wont let him pitch even if there is the slightest risk of damage.

Yup, you need to keep pushing that cap. He was supposed to get 150 IP this year to set him up for 180 next year. Now he’ll be lucky to get 120. Still, the Yanks aren’t stupid. They’ll try him again and if he reports pain again they’ll shut him down for good, even if they’re 1 game out.
