It will be interesting to see how this move plays out for Russo…
It could turn out like a Shelley Long/David Caruso bad decision…
…or, it could turn out as well as Curb Your Enthusiasm did for Larry David.

I’m not gonna lie, even though they barely ever brought any useful info to the table and they sounded like idiots, they were entertaining. Now its just mike by himself, and hes boring without dog…should be interesting to see what mike has to say today (he was on yesterday so i assume he’ll be on today )
its good, no matter hhow you want to slice it. im just sorry he didnt take Francessa with him.
you have to respect what they accomplished in the NY market, but they now come across as out of touch with the current sports environment.
Were entertaining. The thrill was gone about, oh, 15 years ago. The theory that Russo was doing an act in order to provoke interest from his listeners got trashed as the mind-numbing years of audio drivel piled on and on endlessly. And Francesa’s been bored ever since Parcells left town or his first wife left him. Take your pick.
From a thinking man’s point of view there is nothing here to be upset about. Dog is all shtick and little actual knowledge/insight. He’s gone far with less than most in his field.
BUT, in the end, it’s really about entertainment. Dog knew that as well as anyone. And that’s why he added so much to the effort. Even if you did not like him you still felt compelled to listen to him.
And that’s why we’ll miss him.

I do happen to like kim jones and whoever shes on the air with, they are good. But they will never get that 1-6 spot since him works for YES. Tereko and Vanpelt suck much harder than m&tmd

I actually found Dog entertaining. I really liked when he brought other baseball markets into the mix and paid attention to details that happened in games. Yeah he was a Yankee hater and that was annoying BUT that provided a counterbalance to all the Yankee boosting from Mike.
The act does wear thin because it was a triumph of sizzle over substance. It would have been interesting to hear a more sabremetric bent rather than the typical tete a tete we got over Manny or Papi. Look both are Yankee killers, BUT Papi has killed the Yankees in the most memorable and painful circumstances, so Dog was right on that one.
Kim Jones? I look forward to those post game interviews so that I can enjoy her rack. Her commentary isn’t so bad either.
if I hear Kim Jones open one more interview with another “how important was it to…..” question my head will explode. after listening to that week after week, it wouldn’t matter if Angelina Jolie was doing the inteviews buck naked.
