My 4-year old son is really into the “superhero” thing. Spiderman, Batman, The Hulk, Superman, Iron Man…he’s got all the toys, books and several cartoon DVDs for these guys. So, the other day, while we were bumming around in Red Bank (NJ), I took him into Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash to look at some of the action figures, etc.

While we were in there, we noticed the old Batman series playing on a TV. Seeing this, I asked the guy working the counter if he had the 1966 Batman feature film. He suggested that Jack’s (across the street) would have it – and he was right.

So, we picked it up and my son was thrilled. When we caught up with my wife and 6-year old daughter, he showed them the DVD and proclaimed “It’s made from real people!”

When we got home, I explained to him that I was 4-years old, like he is now, when the movie first came out…and he liked that too. Since then, he’s watched the flick…over and over again. (My daughter has gotten into it too.)

These days, he’s running around the house with his Batman toys, yelling out things like “Atomic Batteries to Power! Turbines to Speed!” (And, of course, he has no idea what this means.)

I’ve watched the DVD with them a few times. And, I must confess, it’s still a hoot. It’s 1960′s entertainment, at it’s best. If you’ve never seen it, or haven’t seen it in a while, I recommend catching it…the next time that you can…

yes, great film! For those of you who don’t have it, I picked it up at Best Buy a while back for $5 bucks…yes 5!. The secret stash eh? did you let him ride in the blunt mobile?

Good stuff. Everyone raves ’bout Jack and Heath, but Cesar Romero as the Joker was fantastic! Man he had the camp/insane bit down pat. I have this DVD too and I remember seeing it on the old 4:30 movie on 7 as a kid. The whole series was a trip BUT the film was the cherry on top.

I’ve seen it several times. Adam West cracks me up. Still does, actually :D
