Is Robinson Cano Lazy?
Today, over at Bats, Jack Curry suggests that Cano needs a swift kick in the…er, I mean, a dose of Larry Bowa’s tough love every once in a while to keep his head on straight.
Me? Well, back in December of 2005, there were hints out there that Cano had the potential to be a head case. Don’t get me wrong…I’m not saying Cano is evil. In fact, I believe that Robinson has a good heart.
It’s just that I do, at times, wonder if he needs a better mentor or something. Maybe someone needs to bust up his clique on the Yankees? You know, the one with Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera (when he was here), Bobby Abreu, Wilson Betemit and Jose Molina…
Perhaps there’s someone in there who is a bad influence on Cano? It does seem odd – because Abreu and Molina seem like they would be good influences…
Nah, it’s probably all on Cano – and not his Yankees posse.
You know, I hate the way that Jose Reyes goes about his business on a ball field. And, I’m not the only one. If Cano’s not careful, pretty soon, the media is going to be on him in the same manner that they get on Reyes. And, if they did, I wouldn’t blame them.

Haven’t seen much negative press on Reyes as of late. Probably because the Metsies are in first…
I think the media is already on Cano. Actually, I think they have been on him for awhile now.
