Once was, the problem is the Yankee revenues are supposed to be what 800 mill next with the new stadium? Lucchino keeps on refering to the express train in the bronx keeps on going so Tex won't be a problem moneywise, even for the newly fiscally responsible Yankees. I have a gut feeling that Tex will end up in the Bronx, Manny in Toronto and CC will be wearing Yankee pinstripes.

Look with Santana and Boston , they saw his 7 ERA at Fenway and decided to play a game of chicken with NYY. I don't really see Theo and Co making a mad dash for Teix because of resigning Beckett even though money is coming off for them. Tek really stinks offensively but I feel that he is the heart and soul of that club and it would be a big mistake to get rid of him, even though his slugging,OBP and RISP isn't pleasing to James and the egghead contingent. I don't think that the Red Sox are over when Tek leaves, but it gives Tampa the edge as the best team in the division.

Butchie,
you may be right but there is money coming off of the payroll. Its distressing to watch Lowell go back to his pattern of having a crappy second half, and Youk's play at third really shows that there isn't a big drop off when he plays there.

I'd say for sure that Theo will be in on Teix, if only to make sure the Yankees pay through the nose. We gotta make sure they use up as much as possible of that new stadium revenue on one guy that they sign way beyond his prime! ;)

Once was, I don't see Boston picking up Tex only because Youk and Lowell are relatively cost efficient for Henry, Theo and Co. Lowell is excellent in Fenway Park offensively so why fix something that is not broken. Quite frankly, they have a gaggle of cheap young postion players. The Red Sox should spend that money on resigning Beckett when the time comes ( Beckett might be the exception to the Red Sox's reluctance to give a big contract). Though I think that the last big signing for 20 mill will be Manny AND remember that came during the Duquette regime. That play for Santana was a bluff because of the money involved.

I think the Yanks need to lock up Teixeira because otherwise there is a good chance the Red Sox will throw money his way. I could see Youk going to third, Teixeira at first and Mikey Lowell shipped to the Phils, who wanted him pretty badly before, and they could expect him to put up big numbers in their park.

Then in one move, the Red Sox would only have Drew in RF and (presumably) Tek behind the plate as the graybeards, and everywhere else you look you'd find young stars or guys in their prime.

I hope not either, but you know how these things go. Look at how people are screaming about not trading for Santana.

I can see Hankie messing around trying to land every “big name” or “big game” player out there because they were “on a winner.”
---------------------------------------
Agree. It's positively frightening to think of what the reactionary result of this season will be. How many years will it take to undo the potential disaster this winter will be...?

Yeah, what's up with him and the shadow? He never has a beard and is never clean shaven.

How does he get that "in between" look, EVERYDAY?

What does he have - a special electric razor that ensures an everyday look of I didn't shave today?
