Kevin Meehan? He sounds like a southie and a Red Sox fan from the name alone! It was cool that everyone was nice to him, good for him.Quite frankly, Bostonians are the Parisians of America( they are so nasty and rude). If the tables were turned, trust me those Southies and the snobs who root for them would be screaming at him: Go home!
You can't stop the Mass**les from coming down to watch the Yanks because they can't even get tickets to games at Fenway.

Once was , I don't know how you became a Red Sox fan but it is like Stalinst Russia in New England when it comes to the Red Sox. And the Bostonians? God, they make the French look friendly. I don't hate the team as the Red Sox Nation(Stalinist Monolthic New England loving Red Sox land). Once was, if you have roots in New England fine, otherwise do you know how nasty they are towards Yankee fans up there. They take them so seriously up there. My brother went to college in Mass, so I've had some interesting conversations with Red Sox fans in their Nation. They are not hospitable hosts. Kevin Meehan might be a gentleman, BUT he is an exception to the rule.

~~Sux fans wouldn’t be so eager to visit the Bronx if we were still stomping them in big spots.~~

Exactly.

No only have they reversed the curse, they have reversed the whole story line. Now it's we who are the 'not quite ready for prime time' players and they are the perennial team to beat. (Aside: is Arod now our curse?)

Shame on the Yanks for letting this happen.

Get back on track and those Youk chants will go away.

I'd rather have a stadium full of Sox fans that want to watch baseball than people wearing Yankee gear talking on their cel phones the whole game.

>> As always, money talks. If someone’s willing to pay 2-3 x face value (at minimum) why not let them? >>

Right. If Sox fans want to add to our gi-normous payroll and help fund the new Stadium, who are we to argue?

Boston's reign of drunken terror won't last forever, it just seems that way right now because we're in the thick of it.

It ticks me that Yankees fans would sell their tickets to these games and allow Sox fans to buy them. Ditto the Bros. Stein.
-------------
Have you seen what these tickets as well as tickets against the Mets go for?

If we'd won last night, we'd have laughed at the dude for spending that much money to watch his team lose in enemy territory.

Sorry, but, Sox fans taking over Yankee Stadium for Yanks-Sox games has become a sore point for me. I'm tired of hearing "Yoooouk!" in the Bronx. It ticks me that Yankees fans would sell their tickets to these games and allow Sox fans to buy them. Ditto the Bros. Stein.

No, you can't take the tickets away if a Sox fan gets them. So, to eliminate the risk of a Sox fan buying them, don't do the auction, give your own $ to charity - and, as owners, be there for your team.

You think Henry, Lucchino and Warner miss many Yankees-Sox games at Fenway?

And his guest should have been forced to remove her Oriole cap.

Seriously though, this is a disaster of epic proportion? Is it that saddening that a Red Sox fan paid good money to a charity to sit their and root for his team?

Tell me this, Steve. What kind of press would the Yankees get if they had announced that because the auction was won by a Red Sox fan, his tickets have been revoked, his contribution returned, and he's been given a stern warning to never bid in a Yankee sponsored auction again?
