Sometimes I miss living in NYC and having season tickets, but crap like this and the sunscreen business and the many other gazillion ways that the too-thick-to-become-real-cops gang over there can make an ordinary joe’s evening miserable just make me glad I’m gone. What a prick (the security guard).

Classic case of overcompensating.

I have friends and family who served, and they don’t see the need to throw the things they have done in everyone’s face. They had a job to do, and they did it. That’s it, end of story.

Having said this, we only have one side of the story, but given Stadium security, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if this were true.

A cop throwing someone out of the stadium because he wanted to pee during the 7th inning stretch is outrageous.

If your patriotic self values freedom of expression as much as you do flag waving you should be supporting this guy’s right to go to the bathroom. And you should be speaking out strongly for this guy’s right to express himself and not be harassed for doing so.

If the Yankees are so motivated by patriotism, then why did they stop playing the pre-game national anthem during the telecast rather than moving it to pre-telecast? (As all other professional sports teams did about 20 yrs ago).

I guess honoring America is more important than a person’s need to pee but not more than the financial imperatives of television.

Patriotism need not be enforced by such harsh measures. The security response seems pretty extreme and over-the-top, in my opinion.
