As far as Pudge, Cashman wasn’t even looking at him:

Credit Dave Dombrowski for the dump job there - and pulling one over on Cashman.
---------------------------------
What is your point, exactly? How did Dombrowski pull one over on Cashman by giving up a starting catcher for a lousy relief pitcher? Whatever Pudge's struggles have been in New York, he's certainly no worse than Jose Molina starting every day.

Hate Cashman as much as you want but don't try selling the Pudge-for-Farns deal as some giant swindle. That's just being silly.

~~Frankly, I wouldn’t want my $200 million player who I have under contract for the next decade to get in the middle of a senseless brawl.~~

It is now apparent that the Yankees have run up the white flag for the 2008 season.

BTW: Remember that rhubarb 9 or 10 years ago between the Yanks and Mariners---the one where A Rod and Jeter were exchanging pleasantries while their teammates were exchanging fisticuffs? God, Chad Curtis gave Jeter Holy Hell over that one!

Anyway, though, isn't the more pertinent question whether Pudge Rodriguez was a completely horrible trade deadline pick-up and further evidence of the fact that just maybe, the Yankees should let Cashman walk at season's end?

If you get a chance to see the video, again, or for the first time, of the "brawl" that just happened in this game, watch A-Rod through the whole play.

After tossing the ball to Pudge, to get Hunter at the plate, A-Rod jogged towards the plate. So, he was right 'there' at the flash point when the action started. But, once things got heated, he backed out of there pretty good.

Just protecting the Yankees investment, I'm sure...
