From March 31, 2003 (which was Opening Day that season) through September 8, 2008 (which was last night’s game), Jason Giambi has played in 725 games for the New York Yankees.
During this six year period – again, to date – Giambi has 575 hits for the Yankees and has also struck out 575 times.
As a Yankees fan, do you recall more of the 575 whiffs or more of the 575 hits?

Although I’ve grown to like Giambi over the years (hated him at first), I definitely remember the 575 whiffs more than the 575 hits.

I recall the walks even more than the hits and the whiffs.
One thing about Giambi – even during those stretches when he couldn’t hit the side of a barn, he still seemed to get his walks.

FWIW, Giambi had 500 BB in these 725 games too.
It would have been sooooo cool if it was 575 BB to go with the 575 H and 575 K’s.
