Shouldn’t Posada be mentioned here? I thought he was a Mexican born player.

I didn’t recall him either. But looking up his career I was surprised to find he had spent 7 years in the Yankee organization. He must have been one of those “contigency players”—you know, a Plan B (or even Plan C) type of guy. Today we would know all about a Carlos Rodriguez, his MLEs, batting splits, range factor and so forth; but just 15 years ago, before the explosion of the internet, he could come and go without notice.
