The way I interpreted this was that Posada is referring to next season because he didn’t throw enough innings this season to be able to start next year without getting hurt.

You know you can dismiss this all you want but I think his catcher’s opinion carries a little more significance than your average blog reader. Its been known that some players did not want him to leave the bullpen, but its interesting when his catcher doesn’t say that he’s most suited, temperament or stuff-wise, to the ‘pen but that as a matter of staying healthy, he’d do better in the bullpen.

I doubt though that they’ll listen – unless there were disturbing parts of the medical reports that they didn’t release.

Yankees need to have four or five starters, going into Spring Training, where they know they’re going to get 30 starts and 180 to 200 IP out of each of them…or else 2009 will be a repeat of 2008.
