I like the guy. They would be better off keeping Jason for one more year (net $17m) and trading Matsui to try and get a piece. At 1yr/$13m, Matsui maight be attractive to some American league team. I don't think the Yankees are going after Tex. We might see Posada at 1B in 2010 or 2011.
