Wilson “Chick” Fewster, shown above when he was a member of the Cleveland Indians circa 1924-25, was the first player ever to bat at the current Yankee Stadium. Playing for the Boston Red Sox, Fewster led off the first game ever played at the Stadium on April 18, 1923.

An interesting note: Fewster was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1895. And, he died in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1945. And, the Baltimore Orioles will be the last team to visit this Yankee Stadium.

So, Chick Fewster was the first…who will be the last player to ever bat in this current Yankee Stadium? We’ll soon know the answer to that one.

      Well, if that’s the case, let’s hope it’s a walk-off homer…
