Still Running Wild?

Just for the heck of it, now that the Yankees are six back of the Red Sox in the Wildcard chase, wouldn’t it be great if the Yankees won their next three games while the Red Sox lost their next three games…before New York and Boston met at Fenway Park to play three games to close out the season?

You know what Yogi says…
I hope the Yankees play every game, now, like it’s Game 7 of the World Series…until Boston wins a game…just to keep the pressure on the Sox.
Just like it would have been no fun if they’d clinched while the team was relaxing at home Sunday night, it would have been no fun to clinch while the Yankees had an off-day. Let them win tonight, then go into the clubhouse in Toronto to see the final out at Fenway. Maybe Papelbon will show off a new dance step or two.
Here’s an interesting scenario, Steve: The Yanks and Bosox finish their seasons with identical 91-71 records, necessitating a one game “playoff” to determine the wild card winner. The Yankees win the coin toss to host the game, thereby making the contest the final regular season game at Yankee Stadium. How much are those “golden tickets” worth now?
And, oh! The Yankees have Roger Clemens throw out the first pitch.

And, what, give up the Trailer Park Two-Step that he’s perfected?
That wasn’t a Trailer Park Two-Step. You honestly didn’t recognize the “riverdance” steps?
I know what it was supposed to be…but, like everything he does, when Papelbon does it, it’s trailer park.
Grow up.
OnceIWasAYankeeFan – if Papelbon was a Yankee, and did all the things that he does now, the face, the dancin’, etc. – what would be your opinion of him?
I’d dislike him for his talent that helps the Yankees win.
I wouldn’t call him names like a third grader.
Then you’re a bigger person than I am.
The thing of it is, Steve, is that we’re both over 40. Might be time to retire the name calling and go with all-purpose adult expressions like a certain noun that starts with “f” and ends in “er”.
LOL – too bad that I’m 46 going on 27…
Believe me, many times, I slap myself and say “Wake up, stop acting like a 20-something-year old and act more like someone who’s going to be 50 in four years…”
But, it’s hopeless. I am, for good or bad, someone who wants to be younger forever…
