True story.
I had a boss, a woman, back in 1988. She was very fond of me. She liked my work but also liked me as a person. We actually had much in common. While she was my boss, she also considered me to be a friend. And, I considered her a friend too in time – even though she was my boss first.
Nonetheless, as fond as she was of me, she said this to me, one day, when I shared that it was rare for someone to take the empty seat next to me on the city bus:
“I can understand that. You have a face like a terrorist.”
(Keep in mind this was 1988, I was 26-years old, and this was before we really knew what terrorists were capable of…)
My response to her: “Hey, this is the only face I have. Nothing I can do to change it now.”
It is what it is, my friend…it is what it is…

FWIW, back when I had hair, circa 1990-1991, I was told that I looked like Harrison Ford!
