You don’t trade all star 25 yr old middle infielders for pitchers unless they are legit aces.

Cano frustrated us all this year but that’s because he is so damn talented. You don’t give up on that because he didn’t make an adjustment til Sept.

Cano isn’t like a Hughes. He has a proven track record of success. We should have been able to carry his lack of success in the early months.

You don’t blame your 7th place hitter for lack of offense. That’s crazy.

I’m sorry, the future/farm for this team is pitching, but weak in position players. And the good hitters we get always seem to be poor on Defense (Posada, Jeter, Bobby, Nady, Giambi, etc).
To trade one of the FEW players who is above average on both O and D, is young, is signed to a reasonable salary… IS NUTS!

NUTS I TELL YA! I know good pitching is tempting, but our issue going forward is offense. We must hold Cano, hope he gets his head straight, and LEADS this team in offense as ARod ages.

So if Cano is traded, who plays 2b?

The established pitcher in that group is Oswalt but I think he’s an injury waiting to happen, if it hasn’t already. If Cano and the best of the other guys could be turned into Lineceum, I’d do it but otherwise I’d hold onto him.

I’d trade him, but only for a young top flight pitcher. Billingsley, yes, in a second but I doubt that LA would.

NO NO NO I’m telling you, he’s going to be one of the best hitters with that new stance next year, just wait and see.
