If you go through the play by logs of the 76 season when Doyle Alexander pitched for the Yankees, there were many times when he went deep into games pitching a perfect game. My first ever game at renovated Yankee Stadium was a Monday night game against the Tigers which was on ABC Mon night baseball when Doyle Alexander retired the first 20 Tigers before Rusty Staub hit a clean single.

In light of the Alexander incident, did the Yanks pursue the same angle with Kevin Brown?

Wasn't Alexander the winning pitcher when the Yanks were eliminated from playoff contention in '85?

Double ouch
