If cashman makes this trade it’ll be like Kazmir for Zambrano all over again, but the yanks are giving up MORE!!!! I dont know why they dont just play Damon left, gardner cf and nady right. The red sox are doing fine with ellisbury/crisp in the field and I think gardner is about the same as those two. For a team that is going to need some serious pitching and i hope they go after burnett instead of CC. If this trade for for Santana then I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

Paying for Cano’s contract? The Yankees are stupid but not that stupid. Antone, you should be Mets GM BECAUSE you realize what the Mets greatest weakness is (in a fashion): their relievers. BUT Omar is a semi-dolt who is talking about Manny when they need to shore up the closer role and their relief core. If the Mets are smart , they’ll ask for Cano, Coke and another reliever. Kennedy? Kennedy will end up in a black hole like Pittsburgh………

Quite frankly, given how much money we’d be saving the Mets, Cano/Kennedy for Beltran is really all it should require.

Mets can’t trade Beltran without getting a reliever back though I don’t think. That’s their biggest weakness, so it makes no sense to trade one of their best players without addressing that need, even if they do go after K-Rod.

I don’t see this trade happening though because who plays CF for the Mets once Beltran is gone?

It’s funny though because I bet if changed the name Kennedy with Aceves people wouldn’t be so up in arms about this rumored trade, even though there is no difference between the two right now. I highly doubt the paying of Cano’s contract would be accurate…they dont want to get rid of him that bad I don’t think.

What kind of pitcher would Cano return anyway? Something similar to the Delmon Young-Matt Garza trade or someone worse than that?
