Joel Sherman pitches the idea today in The Post.
I’m Steve Lombardi, and, at first blush, I approve this message.
Hey, it’s not like the Yankees would be the first team to do something like this…see the Angels, for example.

Typo! Fixed that. Thanks
The more good minds working together the better right?
Wouldnt kill Cashman to have another quality voice on his ear
The problem here is the same problem you have when thinking about FA signings or trades – what incentive is there for Gillick to in essence take a demotion?
He’s a GM who’s on the cusp of going to the World Series with a team that he’s shaped over the last couple years – doesn’t make any sense for him to come to New York to not be THE guy.

did u read the article?
The Blue Jays from the glory days( Gaston, his coaching staff, president Paul Beeston) have all come back this year. It’s seems that Gillick is the last piece of the puzzle. Gillick as an advisor? Cash Man already has one of the best in baseball , Stick Michaels, and he doesn’t utilize him. I see Gillick either taking his last job in Toronto OR going back to Seattle to become president.
