Here’s a thought for discussion: what about moving Cano to center field? I don’t know for sure but I’ll assume that he has an above average arm for an outfielder and he certainly has speed and a good glove.

The Yanks need an athletic center fielder. The better the defensive ability then the less important is the offense. By those standards, his offense does not have to be to the max potential that many see in him.

Then, filling in 2nd base is a lot easier than CF.

i can see how the issue with Pavano could be a tricky one… its very easy to just dismiss his tenure here in NY, and move on.

Let’s spice things up a little bit…who is the Barack Obama of the Yankees? Who is the John McCain of the Yankees? Who is the Sarah Palin of the Yankees? and who is the Joe Biden of the Yankees?

I say we include front office, managers/coaches, and players.

but when you take a second glance, you finally have him back, healthy, and hungry for a new contract. the yankees can prob take a chance on picking up that option for the purpose of bringing him into spring training as an audition for other teams… maybe even hold onto him until the trade deadline if things are going well.

And on a Yankee topic, how about that Feinsand report that Cashman still likes Pavano and might make a pitch to bring him back?

Or that Peavey has added the Yankees to the list of acceptable trade destinations?
