If this is really the way some organization insiders think it gives one an idea about how screwed up the organization is. This team has got to get younger, this idea helps get them older (I didn't even think that was possible).

I am ok with it. Edmonds will be cheap and his experience will allow him to play a better center than Jackson and Gardner which are not ready. He would be a good club house guy and if he only hits 260 it better than hoping for Melky and paying a large price for another option. Let Melky gain back his confidence and then you have him, Gardner and Jackson to fill in next year and with Damon and Matsui up after next year you will have a yound outfield and depth as well. Edmonds for one year is ok by me

You have got to be kidding me. That exec should be fired immediately. Edmonds was on life support with the Padres before the Cubs picked him up. I wouldn't be surprised if he falls off the map offensively this season and he damn sure can't cover as much ground in center field anymore. Didn't the Yankees get rid of Bernie in CF because he was too old and now they want to put a 39 year old out there? This guy is nuts.
