The Washington Nationals have acquired Scott Olsen and Josh Willingham from the Florida Marlins in exchange for Emilio Bonifacio, P.J. Dean and Jake Smolinski.
Call me crazy, but, would Olsen and Willingham have not been good insurance for the Yankees rotation and 1B/DH situation this off-season, in case all of New York’s big free agent plans bomb this winter?
Or, could the Yankees not match the package of Emilio Bonifacio, P.J. Dean and Jake Smolinski? Sure, if the Yankees go out and get a stud first-sacker and two aces for their rotation, then you don’t need Olsen and Willingham. But, then again, you could always trade them too – if they became extra baggage.
Oh, well, there’s no crying over spilt milk, or trades already made, right?

I saw this trade an immediately thought the same.
To be honest, this immediately looks like one of the most one-sided trades I have seen in a long time.
