Catching Up On Eric Duncan
Via the Scranton Times Tribune:
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Rudolph and the rest will lead Santa Claus into the Electric City next week to officially open the area’s holiday season.
Scranton Jaycees’ 16th annual Santa Parade is scheduled Nov. 22 at 9 a.m.
“We’re very excited and we hope to exceed last year’s attendance,” said Tony Patte, the parade’s co-chairman. More than 40,000 people lined the streets downtown for last year’s parade and officials have added more floats and balloons this year, Mr. Patte said.
The Saturday morning parade, which for most in the area is the official start to the Christmas season, will begin at Franklin Avenue and Spruce Street, proceed along Spruce then wind around onto Wyoming Avenue to Lackawanna Avenue where marchers will turn onto Lackawanna Avenue and conclude at Hilton Scranton and Conference Center.
The parade, which will take place rain or shine, also is scheduled to be broadcast on WNEP-TV, Channel 16.
The parade’s honorary grand marshal will be Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees infielder Eric Duncan. “(Mr. Duncan) will be carrying the Governor’s Cup, the Triple A baseball championship trophy, the team won this year,” Mr. Patte said.
