What happened?

It was sorta the perfect storm. Ray Handley started coaching the Giants. I got married. But, overall, it just started to dawn on me that I was rooting for a colored jersey with a number on it and a helmet without a face. The players that I grew up loving to watch play were moving along and new players were put into their shells - meaning those same jersey, helmets, and numbers.

I know that players are disposable in every sport. But, in football, the notion that they were as disposable as paper cups was really starting to hit me.

I just became disconnected.

However, I then became disenchanted with pro-football.
-----
So what happened?

I haven't really followed since the Oilers left town. I can watch a game on occasion, but I don't really follow anymore. I used to play, but there was too much rigidity & discipline for me.
