Sabathia Making Yanks Wait As He Watches Dodger Moves?
Dan Graziano thinks that could be the case.
If true, then, the CC sweepstakes could easily drag into December – or beyond.

The Yankees can up their offer a little, but other than doing that there’s not really anything we can do. It’s pretty much out of our hands and all we can do is wait.
With McCourt and Colletti you have some baseball minds that have made some stupid expensive signings that have not panned out like Pierre, Jones and Schmidt. I will be shocked if the Dodgers come even 25 million close to the Yankee offer, THEN they will up that to 160 mill if CC plays games. Then CC has no excuses.
However long it takes, it takes. Why worry about it?

I agree. CC said he wants the process to be over quickly but I don’t really buy it. He can sit on the Yankees offer as long as he wants, waiting for another offer to come. If another (better) offer comes, he’ll sign it. If not, he knows the Yankees won’t remove theirs from the table. Why sign quickly when you have nothing to lose and only to gain by waiting? I don’t think its really a sign of anything except due patience.
