SNY.tv checks in with Tim Dierkes of MLB TradeRumors.com. The video is below:

If Sabathia really can do better, then you just have to say “Happy Trails!” and let the big tub of goo roll…if you ask me.

Steve…. That’s not even what Dierkes said. Come on.

SNY.TV guy: “What is he waiting for?”
Dierkes: “Well, I guess he can do a little bit better.”

Obviously Dierkes has no inside information from CC, and doesn’t even say say that CC thinks he can do better. Dierkes just “guesses” that CC can do a little better and that’s why he’s waiting.

And if he can do better than the Yankees offer (money-wise, that is), I think the Yankees ought to match. Why not, Steve? What’s an extra $10-15 million out of George’s (Hal’s?) pocket? I mean, they’ve already set ticket prices, right?

$10-15 million less that can be spent on someone who may be able to help the team, no?

not something you necessarily have to worry about when the Steinbrenner boys have made it clear they’re goin to throw some cash around to get the players they want.

unfortunately, Teixeira doesnt seem to be on that list from what we can tell thus far.
